Institutional subscribers in the U.S. receive the quarterly Journal of American History. In addition, subscribers receive complimentary print copies of the quarterly OAH Newsletter, the quarterly OAH Magazine of History and the OAH annual meeting Program.
Frequency of Publication
The Journal of American History (ISSN 0021-8723) prints every March, June, September, and December. The OAH Newsletter (ISSN 1059-1125) prints every February, May, August, and November. The OAH Magazine of History ((ISSN 0882-228X) prints each January, April, July, and October.
Electronic Access
For a minimal fee, current institutional print subscribers can purchase electronic access to the Journal of American History at the time they begin or renew a subscription to the JAH. Rates are listed in the chart below. To enable access to the JAH for your institution you can either provide your institution's IP addresses at the time of purchase, or register IP addresses directly with the History Cooperative.
The OAH Magazine of History is not available electronically to our institutional subscribers; however, the OAH Newsletter and Annual Meeting Program can be accessed at no additional fee.
How to Subscribe
You may subscribe online, with your institution's VISA, Mastercard, or American Express card, using our secure web server, or use this PDF form to fax or mail to OAH.
Payments
Payment is required at the time of your order. Checks must be in U.S. funds, drawn on U.S. bank, and must accompany your printed form (above). Checks should be made payable to OAH. (Sorry, we cannot accept electronic transfers.) Please call the membership department at 812-855-9873 if you have questions.
Agency Discount
Agencies receive a 10% discount on print subscriptions only. Discount does not apply to single issue purchases, or electronic access fees.
Subscriptions Outside U.S.
Please add $25 for subscriptions that ship outside the U.S.
Refunds
It is the responsibility of the institution, or its agent, to choose the correct subscription category. Any requests for overpayments must be made in writing and received within six months. Refunds will be based on excess portion only less a $25 processing fee.
Subscription Dates
OAH does not "back date" a start date for a subscription period. All incoming payments will be stamped with a "received date" upon arrival in the OAH office. If the payment is received at least 30 days prior to the current expiration date, the record will be updated for one year from point of expiration. If the payment is received after an expiration date has passed, the record will be given a start date of the first day of the following month, and the record will be current for one year. To ensure proper credit, all renewals must include the OAH reference (ID) number.
Claims
Claims must be submitted within one year of the date of publication for replacement issue(s). OAH reference (ID) numbers must be included on all claims and can be found on the top line of the mailing label of OAH publications. Claims received for issues older than one year will be considered orders for back issues and payment will be required prior to shipment.
Single Issues
Single issue price: $50.00 (four most recent issues). Back issue price: $35.00. There is no agency discount on single issue purchases.
